LAKE HAVASU CITY — “Teen Break,” a Lake Havasu City Parks & Recreation and community-sponsored event, will be held March 20-22 at Rotary Community Park.

Teens in grades 6 through 12 may register beginning Monday, Feb. 27, at the Recreation/Aquatic Center, 100 Park Ave.

The fee is $40 per teen. Scholarships are available for those who qualify.

Registration forms must be notarized and a Notary is available at the Recreation/Aquatic Center Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; on Saturday, March 10, from noon to 2 p.m.; and on Saturday and Sunday, March 18 and 19, from 11 a.m.to 3 p.m..

Teen Break 2012 will again offer three full days of live music and entertainment, free food  and contests. Again this year will be a “Family Fun Night” open to the entire community on March 20, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This is the 19th year that Parks and Recreation, the Christian Youth Workers Roundtable, Kalil Bottling Company and Bashas have collaborated on Teen Break. Teen Break has become the alternative to the college crowd activities that may entice teens during the much-publicized Spring Break. More than 1,700 teens per day participated last year.

Sponsors are still needed for the event. To make a monetary or product donation, contact Candie at the Parks & Recreation Department, 453-8686.
