Dec 22, 2011 by

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has released a recording of the 911 call from Michael Thomas, who was shot and killed by a deputy on Tuesday night in Ft. Mohave.

Thomas, who was shot once in the neck and twice in the torso, informed the dispatcher that he intended to harm himself and another party.

Bullhead City police are investigating the shooting by Deputy Sean Watson, who was placed on administrative leave for now.

Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Trish Carter said Watson opened fire after Thomas charged at him with a knife. The incident took place about 7:40 p.m. near the fuel island of a grocery store in the 4800 block of Highway 95. Thomas was pronounced dead after he was transported to Valley View Medical Center.
